The Bank of Albania is introducing the two new banknotes of the Albanian Lek that will be available from January 17.
This initiative will involve a new bill for the 500 ALL (around €4 euros) banknote and another one for the 2.000 ALL (around €16 euros) banknote.
‘Both banknotes will offer an updated design, but they will nonetheless retain the same motifs that were present in the existing generation,” – stated the announcement of the Bank of Albania.
With these two banknotes, the entire series containing 6 different bills, will be complete, namely the 200, 500, 1.000, 2.000, 5.000, and 10.000 ALL.
In the official message, the Bank of Albania also announced that consumers should be careful with how they use these banknotes so that their lifespan can be extended as much as possible.
