Seven citizens died from COVID-19 in Albania on Monday, while another 789 tested positive.

More than 248,850 people have contracted the virus, and 222,508 have recovered, since the beginning of the pandemic.

New infections have been on the decline for the past two days, however that could potentially be due to less testing.

Active cases across the country are estimated at around 24,081, of which more than 10,500 are in the Albanian capital.

According to a tally kept by national health authorities, the official death toll in Albania is 3,312.
