250 members of the Democratic Party have voted til now at the primaries in Lushnje. The process is also being observed by former MP Klevis Balliu.
Euronews Albania journalist Ardit Hoxha says no incidents were recorded so far. All DP members are entitled to vote at the primaries.
The representatives of DP leader Lulzim Basha have continuously called to have a single candidate run in Lushnje.
Four candidates are competing in Lushnje, namely:
- Arben Zaimi
- Elton Bano
- Eurion Iljazi
- Indrit Qerimi
On Sunday, Democrats from six municipalities headed to the polls to elect their official candidate for the by-elections due on March 6.
In total, there are 654,538 eligible voters in six municipalities. The Interior Ministry confirmed 10,134 first-time voters, while 135 were not included in the list due to the decriminalization law.
