Democrat MP Flamur Noka said for Euronews Albania that by early next week, the provisional committee will reveal the scheme how it plans to formalize the six candidates that will run at the by-elections.
The six candidates are being voted today, although DP leader Lulzim Basha said earlier on that he will not recognize them.
Voting kicked off in six municipalities, namely Durres, Vora, Shkodra, Diber, Rrogozhine, and Lushnje. No incidents were reported so far. The largest voter turnout was recorded in Shkodra.
In total, there are 654,538 eligible voters at the local by-elections. The Interior Ministry confirmed that 10,134 are first-time voters, while 135 were not included in the list due to the decriminalization law.
