Polls have now closed in Durres, where the members of the Democratic Party voted for a candidate that will compete in the local by-elections.
As counting kicked off, only members of the local governance commission were allowed at the premises, as well as the two competing candidates, and MP Oerd Bylykbashi.
The counting process will not be recorded on camera.
Voting began at 8 AM in six municipalities, namely Durres, Vora, Rrogozhine, Shkoder, Lushnje and Diber.
Flamur Noka told Euronews Albania earlier during the day that by early next week, the DP will announce how it plans to formalize its candidates to run in the by-elections.
Meanwhile, Arben Ristani declared that the winning candidates will most likely be endorse by a multi-party coalition.
