Last week, citizens living in Tirana reported a total of 654 drivers for reckless driving and various other Road Code violations. These numbers are based on an official report published by the state police, which details the specific types of violations reported by citizens.
2 citizens have been arrested as a result of these reports after police stopped them for reckless driving. The official police report also states that an additional 4 citizens were caught thanks to reports submitted by citizens this past week.
The police claim that through this valued contribution, incidents that could have had life-threatening consequences have been stopped.
In addition, one of the most reported types of violations was reckless driving and instances of drivers experimenting with dangerous driving maneuvers.
“For some time now, thanks to our collaboration with citizens, Tirana’s Traffic Police has been able to carefully follow up on all reports at our Digital Commissariat System, where citizens can submit their reports or post on social media, which can serve as evidence to prove these various Road Code violations,” – stated the police report.
