Our daily case count has considerably dropped, as in the past 24 hours, a total of 251 new cases were identified in Albania, from a total of 1.766 suspected tests.

If we compare this to 2 days ago – Saturday at 793 infections and Sunday at 659 – we can say that new cases have declined, by more than 50%.

The ministry of health however did report that 7 citizens, unfortunately, lost their lives due to complications from the virus, bringing the total number of fatalities since the outbreak of the pandemic in our country to 3.387.

In addition, a total of 1.246 citizens successfully recovered in the past 24 hours.

There are currently well over 12 thousand active cases in our country, 126 of whom have been hospitalized and 18 are exhibiting serious forms of the virus.

The ministry of health has continued its calls to citizens to get vaccinated. All citizens over the age of 16 can get a vaccine in our country and so can children over the age of 12, who are suffering from an auto-immune disease and have a doctor’s recommendation.

Health authorities advise citizens to keep a mask when indoors and avoid large gatherings while being careful about their personal hygiene.
