President Ilir Meta submitted a proposal to the Albanian Parliament today, in regards to the reelection of Gent Sejko as governor of the Bank of Albania.
In an official notice published by the President’s Office, Meta also expressed his appreciation for the Bank of Albania’s role in ensuring the stability of our financial system.
“We commend the policies followed by the Bank of Albania, which have continued to be accommodating when it comes to offering the necessary support for our country’s economic recovery following the earthquake and the global pandemic, while also alleviating Albania’s fiscal consolidation. Meanwhile, it’s also worth noting that the role of the Bank of Albania in ensuring the stability and liquidity of our financial sector must be commended,” – reads the president’s notice.
The Governor of the Bank of Albania reached the end of this mandate on February 5, 2022.
