PM Edi Rama will meet the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken today during an official visit to Washington DC.
Their main topic of discussion will be our bilateral relations with the United States as well as our stance regarding the current tensions in Ukraine.
This meeting comes at a time when Albania has become a member of the United Nations Security Council which has also assigned us as co-penholders on issues of security and international affairs.
Yesterday, Rama conducted another meeting in the U.S. with the UN Secretary-General, Antonia Guterres.
On Monday, President Ilir Meta called a meeting of the National Security Council to discuss the tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
Albanian authorities have expressed their support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and its territorial integrity in the face of a possible Russian incursion.
