SPAK should have arrested Erion Veliaj for giving the permit to the Tirana incinerator, a decision that should have been taken by the Municipal Council, said journalist Andi Bushati on Today.
He admitted exchanging messages with another journalist, namely Desada Metaj, while mayor Erion Veliaj was testifying at the inquiry commission.
Bushati said he was unclear why Veliaj was dodging questions on the very document he was called to testify on, but instead going on around other topics.
According to the journalist, Tirana’s mayor breached the law as he signed to something outside of his jurisdiction, as well as lied while under oath.
“Erion and his personal photographer showed that they are spying on people’s messages. This news story was produced to hide the truth. That is if we would really have SPAK today if would have handcuffed Veliaj right away because he infringed the law ”, said Bushati.
“For €90 million, he gave away for three decades something that he doesn’t even have jurisdiction on. Secondly, he lied under oath”, said Bushati.
