In the municipality of Shkoder, Berisha’s candidate in the Home of Freedom coalition has the highest approval rating amongst voters (42.3%).
The socialist candidate Majlinda Angoni has the support of almost 1 in 3 voters (30.3%) in Shkoder. In addition, DP’s Xhemal Bushati has the support of 18.5% of the electorate in Shkoder.
These Barometer findings showed that the candidate with the highest negative perception (51.5%) in Shkoder was the one representing the Democratic Party, Xhemal Bushati.
The general approval rating for the mayoral candidates in Shkoder is directly linked to the voters’ preferences in terms of each political leader participating in the race.
As a result, Sali Berisha was the political leader with the highest approval rating in Shkoder (41.9%).
In addition, PM Edi Rama was the go-to political leader for 1 in 4 voters (28%) , whereas DP chair, Lulzim Basha, was the choice of only 14.6% of eligible voters in Shkoder.
Results were retrieved from a poll conducted by Euronews Albania’s Barometer in collaboration with MRB and Data Centrum in the municipality of Shkoder, from February 12-18, 2022, through 1.000 in-person interviews.
