Joining NATO continues to be Kosovo’s strategic objective, which is why now it is more necessary than ever and a precondition to peace in the region.
These were the remarks of Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani on Saturday during a state ceremony commemorating the 24 anniversary of the Epopee of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
Kosovo has called for accelerated NATO membership, emphasizing an imminent threat from Russia in face of its invasion of Ukraine.
On the other side, Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic called the request a “trap”.
During the ceremony, Osmani commemorated the Jashari family saying that it is “is the portrait of Kosovo’s freedom, which took a lot of effort to achieve”
