This was a landslide victory for SP’s candidate for mayor in Diber – Rahim Spahiu.
Spahiu was able to win 13.995 votes, leaving behind the 3 other candidates with a massive advantage.
Perparim Kryemadhi from Berisha’s ‘House of Freedom’ coalition won a total of 4.478 votes.
Luan Haka from the Democratic Party (DP) won 4.437 votes.
Dritan Torba from New Movement (LRE) was able to get 99 votes.
Dibra is one of the 6 municipalities which participated in the local by-elections because its previous mayor – who was elected after the 2019 elections – Dionis Imeraj – stepped down due to his candidature in the April 25 general elections.
He was nonetheless unable to win the necessary votes that would grant him a seat in Parliament.
With a total budget of 910 million ALL back in 2021, this is considered the largest municipality in the entire district of Diber.
