Basha’s statement following by-elections results was a fatal mistake, said for ‘Today’ Roland Bejko, party secretary for decentralization and local governance.
“The statement was fatal. To say that you’ve never lost an election means offending other peoples’ intelligence”, Bejko said.
In regards to the outcome of the elections, he said he expected the Democratic Party to rank at least as the second force.
“I thought that the silent electorate was going to endorse Basha, after he separated from Berisha. Based on what I spoke with our electorate, I came to understand that Basha failed to reformulate himself”, he said.
“Many Democrats didn’t even vote”, he concluded.
