Lulzim Basha should leave the Democratic Party, but not alone. He should take with him Ervin Salianji, Grida Duma, Agron Gjekmarkaj, and Enkelejd Alibeaj, too, said analyst Baton Haxhiu on tonight’s Shock.
The latter have endorsed Basha all the way up to the latest polls, but after DP’s major defeat called on their leader to step down.
Haxhiu maintained that the fact that they have been on Basha’s side to the end, means that they too should leave the party.
“Lul Basha mustn’t leave alone, for the simple reason that all those who called on him to resign – Salianji, Duma, Gjekmarkaj and Alibeaj – lack the political dignity to remain with whoever gets assigned, nor to unify the DP again”, Haxhiu said.
But Andi Bushati shared another opinion. According to him, Basha has to walk out alone, as he didn’t reach out to anyone when deciding to expel Sali Berisha from DP’s parliamentary group.
Bushati gave another reason why Basha should leave, and that is the ultimate test he failed to pass in the March 6 elections which proved “that his own party doesn’t want him nor vote for him”.
“He couldn’t even secure the votes of the Democrats, that is why he must leave”, Bushati said.
