A delegation of senior national security advisors to the President of the United States is heading on Friday to Kosovo.
Bëhet e ditur se zyrtarët amerikanë që do të priten nga presidentja Vjosa Osmani dhe kryeministri Albin Kurti janë:
President Vjosa Osmani and PM Albin Kurti will host the meeting with the following US officials:
Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall – Homeland Security advisor;
Curtis Reid – Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director of Multilateral Affairs;
Hillary Hurd – Senior Homeland Security Advisor;
Holly Holzer – State Department Coordinator for Afghan Relocation Efforts (CARE).
Their visit comes at a time when Kosovo has stepped up its bid to join the Euro-Atlantic Alliance.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani reinstated Kosovo’s commitment to joining
NATO in a letter addressed to the US President.
“Europe is facing the darkest and most dangerous times since the end of the Cold War. As we share the common goal of protecting and promoting global security, Kosovo’s membership in NATO has become a necessity. Arguments against Kosovo’s membership in NATO ignore this need for security in the Western Balkans and do not serve the interests of the free democratic world, which is being surrounded by authoritarian tendencies and their aggressive policies,” Osmani wrote.
The letter secured by Reuters is dated March 10.
Only three Western Balkan states are NATO members, namely Albania, North Macedonia, and Montenegro.
