The Democratic Party took a great leap forward towards internal reconciliation on Thursday following a decision to tear down armored doors.

The doors were placed as a measure to back off protesters called by Sali Berisha, over allegations that they were going to try to break in inside the party’s headquarters.

Earlier in the day, Berisha said he remains open to dialogue, on the condition that he will only recognize the Democratic Party’s parliamentary group and not its executive council.

But according to Democrat MP Grida Duma, there can be no reconciliation if the two sides start to impose conditions.

“There can be no conditions when we want a reunification. There can only be negotiations, dialogue, accords, and then we can have the proper circumstances to achieve the reunification”, Duma said.

The Democratic Party invited Sali Berisha’s faction in an effort to reunite the political party.

Another means to achieve that goal has been the establishment of a group, composed of members from the executive council, parliamentary group, and the college of the leaders.
