Former integration minister Bekim Çollaku claims that PM Albin Kurti should have found a solution in holding Serbian elections in Kosovo’s soil.

“He should have found a way to hold these elections, as we should avoid heightening tensions”, said the former minister in an interview for Good Morning on Euronews Albania.

Çollaku spoke from The Hague, where he has traveled to attend the trial of former KLA commanders, Hashim Thaçi.

According to him, the war crimes indictment against the former KLA leaders is ‘groundless’, adding that their stay at a pre-trial detention center is unfair.

“They are real leaders and patriots that stood strong regardless of all circumstances. The paradox of putting an effort for peace that ends in an indictment on war crimes is something painful”, he concluded.
