“All officials who abuse their power, regardless of their ranking, will be brought to justice”, declared on Friday Albania’s minister of justice Ulsi Manja.
Manja noted that the Anti-Corruption Directorate has launched a large operation that will seek to unveil abuses that have taken place in several cadasters, especially along the coast.
“The investigation covers a long period, with former officials also under investigation. I assure you that abusers will be brought to justice, regardless of their ranks”, Manja said.
The justice minister commended the swift operation of the Prosecution Office after being tipped by the Anti-Corruption Directorate.
The operation led to the arrest of several former officials from the Saranda cadaster.
However, he urged the prosecution to enhance its performance.
Manja also invited citizens to be cooperative and denounce corruption.
