The First Instance Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime issued 9 arrest warrants on Tuesday, after an investigation into faulty procedures involving Fieri’s waste incinerator plant.

Among the suspects being investigated by SPAK are former environment minister Lefter Koka, Klodian Zoto as the manager of Integrated Technology Services, and the former manager of the Fier incinerator, Arenc Myrtezani.

9 people currently under investigation:

  • Lefter Koka, former environment minister: abuse of office, passive corruption of senior state officials, and laundering the proceeds of crime or criminal activity (imprisonment)
  • Klodian Zoto, manager of Integrated Technology Services: active corruption of senior state officials, laundering the proceeds of crime or criminal activity (imprisonment)
  • Arenc Myrtezani, former manager of Fier incinerator: active corruption of senior state officials, laundering the proceeds of crime or criminal activity (imprisonment)
  • Pellumb Alushi: abuse of office (imprisonment)
  • Azem Shateri: abuse of office (imprisonment)
  • Florjan Mucaj: abuse of office (imprisonment)
  • Erjon Murataj: abuse of office (imprisonment)
  • Sabina Cenameri: abuse of office (house arrest)
  • Etleva Kondi: abuse of office (house arrest)
