The state police arrested on Thursday former Socialist MP Alqi Bllako.
Bllako was arrested at home and taken to the Tirana Police Directorate.
On Wedneday, Bllako submitted his resignation letter to the Assembly paving the way to his arrest.
In a letter sent to the SPAK, the Assembly noted that the meeting of the Council on the Rules of Procedure, Mandates, and Immunities has been canceled, after Bllako’s decision to resign at his own will.
Socialist MP Alqi Bllako and Lefter Koka, serving at the time as environment minister, have allegedly falsified documentation on the type of land where the incinerator was going to be built.
The documentation submitted to the government claimed that the incinerator was going to be built in an area where construction is allowed, but SPAK is saying the opposite.
According to SPAK, the incinerator was built on arable land, which is much cheaper.
