The government has been asking people to avoid using their cars in an effort to spare fuel, however, it seems that it is not following up on this advice when it comes to what it is spending.
In March, the Concentrated Purchasing Agency opened a €14 million tender to buy fuel, with the contract deadline spanning from 3 to 4 years, depending on the fuel.
But it wasn’t only the Concentrated Purchasing Agency who opened a tender recently.
Several municipalities have created tenders to purchase €1 million worth of fuel.
However, the move comes at a time when oil prices are at record-high levels meanwhile, experts suggest that the price of oil in the stock market is expected to drop.
Around two months ago, the Concentrated Purchasing Agency opened another €5 million tender to buy fuel.
According to estimates, the state administration is set to spend around €35 million a year just to buy fuel.
