Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the publication of the US State Department 2021 report on Albania.
In a status shared on Twitter, Rama said the report was ‘outdated’ and ‘copied from the previous year’.
According to the Albanian Prime Minister, the report did not reflect the achievements that the Department of State commended recently.
The DOS report found widespread corruption across all government branches.
In addition, the report pointed at obstacles during the investigation of corruptive cases, meanwhile investigation of high-ranking officials remains low.
Among others, the Department of State also said that there have been efforts to influence the media, reportedly from the government, businesses, and criminal groups.
