Sali Berisha accused on Wednesday the floor leader of the Democratic Party, Enkelejd Alibeaj, of fueling an internal rift in order to prevent the election of branch leaders.
After coming out from a meeting with the Refoundation Commission held at DP headquarters, Berisha told the media that despite interferences, the election process for the party’s branch leaders is going ‘quite well’ and based on ‘principles of transparency’.
Berisha warned about intervening to fix any reported irregularities, hinting at the branch in the district of Lushnje.
“Enkelejd’s Telephone Game, where he tells a certain individual not to be cooperative, is not impeding the process, which is actually going quite fine. The legitimate concerns raised by specific branches will be fixed. We can intervene and fix any reported irregularity. There was a problem in Lushnje from before the campaign even started where they made a pre-election deal however, now it is the vote that matters. There is a will for total transparency”, concluded Berisha.
