Three out of five Albanians (61.3%) are worried that Albania might end up getting involved in the war in Ukraine, in light of the fact that the country is a member of NATO.
The majority of those concerned were citizens from the age of 45 to 54 (74%). Among young people, more than half of them, fear that Albania might be in some way involved in the war.
Euronews Albania’s Barometer asked Albanian citizens about the war in Ukraine and how should the country position itself in case of a potential war scenario.
Almost half of the respondents (48%) think Albania is a small country and should not get entangled with the wars waged by other countries.
The other part of the respondents is almost divided in half, with one side agreeing with this statement (27%) and those who are undecided (24%).
A majority (61%) think Albania should not send troops to Ukraine, in case NATO decided to deploy forces.
Nearly two in five Albanians (38%) are against sending troops to Ukraine, even if NATO gets involved.
More than half (58%) said that they are against those who voluntarily choose to go fight in Ukraine, meanwhile two out of five respondents (38%) supported that.
The findings are from a face-to-face survey conducted by MRB and Data Centrum from 25 Mach to 5 April.
