“Both parties reaffirmed their strong support for EU accession talks for Albania and North Macedonia and their commitment to working with Albanian partners on justice reform and EU integration”.
This was the statement posted on Friday on Twitter by the US Embassy following the visit of Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs Gabriel Escobar in Albania.

The Embassy also emphasized that the senior US officials reinstated the unalterable role a strong opposition has for the country’s democracy.
