Former PM Sali Berisha spoke briefly to the media prior to entering the Palace of Congresses where the Democratic Party’s National Assembly has now commenced.
Berisha said this is an important day as he greeted party delegates, members, and supporters.
“A heartwarming greeting to all the delegates invited to this hall. Over 40,000 members… warm greetings to Albanian voters and DP’s supporters. This day is of major importance. After DP’s second birthday in constituting its forums as the opposition”, Berisha said.
The first decision to be taken up by delegates will be to asses and then adopt changes made to the party’s statute in December.
Another important decision will be setting the date for leadership elections.
