Andi Bushati said on Tuesday that Albania must continue to accept Russian tourists, even though Albania is not their top destination.

“Albania doesn’t have to be more Catholic than the Pope”, said Bushati on Euronews Albania’s Shock.

He said Albanians have no right in making a distinction between good and bad Russians.

“Why would it be wrong for a Russian family from Moscow to come on holiday in Albania”, asked Bushati.

According to the analyst, the government made the right choice in allowing Russian tourists to enter Albanian soil however, he added that the move falls short of another government decision, that of naming the street in front of the Russian Embassy “Free Ukraine”.

Meanwhile, Baton Haxhiu is against hosting Russian tourists in the country.

He said Russians should not be allowed to travel as they have “potentially voted Putin”.

“Then we shouldn’t allow Albanians to go to the beach either, as they voted Rama”, joked Bushati.

In a video message to the Albanian Parliament on Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelenskyy called on Albanians not to allow Russian tourists in the country.
