The Independent Qualification Commission (KPK) dismissed on Friday Durres Prosecutor Arjan Ndoja.

On his way out of the court session, Ndoja said he will appeal the verdict at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in Strasbourg.

Asked from Euronews Albania whether he suspects his dismissal was politically motivated, Ndoja said “After thunder comes the rain”.

Classified Information Security Directorate (CISD) pointed to evidence of preferential treatment toward individuals with criminal records during the time Ndoja was in office.

Ndoja allegedly associated in 2009 and 2010 with individuals involved in a corruptive affair and appointed a court panel for a trial on a property dispute.

Arjan Ndoja survived an assassination attempt in November 2019 at the Tirana-Durres highway.
