It’s been 15 months since the four ex-commanders of the Kosovo Liberation Army were sent to a pre-trial detention prison at The Hague.

Last weekend, Baton Haxhiu went to Hague to visit Kadri Veseli and Hashim Thaci.

Haxhiu said their trial might commence in October, adding that the pre-trial has been prolonged more than necessary.

“The length of the start of this trial is the longest so far at the International Court of Justice in The Hague,” he said.

He also questioned why the former commanders were not being tried in Kosovo, or at least in another third country.

Replying to that statement Andi Bushati asked how fair is this is justice that internationals are trying to introduce.

“What about this justice that kept Veseli and Thaci in prison for a year and a half; is this necessarily rightful? Was Kosovo right in voting for the Specialist Chambers in parliament? Did we do the right thing when we blindly voted for our justice reform?”, said Bushati.

“This court, alike our justice reform, has patrons in the EU and the Department of State”, he added.
