Justice Minister Ulsi Manja called on Wednesday for an investigation into judges and prosecutors that were either dismissed or resigned ahead of the vetting process.
In a joint press conference with PM Edi Rama from the headquarters of the Socialist Party, Manja said that the legal and constitutional responsibility falls under the criminal prosecution organs.
The justice minister said 530 judges and prosecutors passed the vetting process, and 197 were dismissed.
He explained that the latter were dismissed for various reasons, including false self-declarations, hiding wealth and assets, as well as ambiguous financial sources for their assets.
Manja stated that 800 judges and prosecutors, including legal assistants and legal advisers, are currently subject to a re-evaluation.
