An elevator incident that left a patient trapped in the elevator of Mother Theresa hospital on Monday, has brought back safety concerns.

Euronews Albania journalist Xhensila Nako spoke to the residents of the Astir neighborhood in Tirana, where another elevator-related malfunction in September left two people seriously injured.

They said that the recent incident awakened feelings, however many said that they still have to use it on a daily basis.

Residents said that they pay a monthly maintenance fee, but do not know whether there are safety inspections carried out as they have experienced many cases where the elevator has not functioned properly.

One of the supervisors of the building we spoke to said that although malfunctions tend to happen, they respond to the complaints of the tenants within 5 days.
