A road in New York has been named after the Albanian national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg.
The Albanian community organized a large gathering with traditional music and Albanian flags in honor of this event on Sunday.
New York’s mayor, Eric Adams, also joined the Albanian-American community in the city, during their celebrations.

Through a post on Twitter, Adams said that it was an honor for him to participate in the event honoring the Albanian hero which was held in New York’s neighborhood known as Little Albania.
Democratic congressman Adriano Espaillat was also present in the ceremony, during which he thanked his former-advisor, Mark Gjonaj, who was also Albanian.
This will be the third street that is names after a renowned Albanian personality in New York, along with Mother Theresa Road and Fan Noli Road.
