85% of Albanians share the same religion with their family. Only one in ten citizens is actually of another faith from the one practiced in their household.

The phenomenon is more widespread in rural areas, although there isn’t a contrasting difference.

If we divide citizens based on the areas they live in, results show that families who inherit a religion are more common in Albania’s north.

Even though a majority are of the same religion at home, they are acceptive of people with different religious beliefs other than their own.
Over 95% of Albanians accepts their friends, colleagues, teachers, or family doctor to be of a different religion.

The recent findings are from Euronews Albania’s Barometer, conducted by MRB and Data Centrum on a national level via 1,000 face-to-face interviews from April 25 to May 7.
