After the election of Sali Berisha as DP’s leader, on Friday, the party’s National Council will convene in order to elect its new leadership structures.
Euronews Albania’s journalist, Ardit Hoxha, explained that DP’s structures led by Berisha, will change compared to the previous ones led by Basha and Alibeaj, starting with the deputy leaders.
Alibeaj’s DP has 4 deputy leaders. According to the amended statute, Berisha’s DP has 2 deputy leaders.
According to a source from within the Democratic Party, members like Oerd Bylykbashi, Lucjano Boci and Agron Shehaj are being discussed as favorable candidates for this post.
As for the position of the Secretary-General, sources claim that Flamur Noka could be a favorable candidate.
“Apart from Bylykbashi, who has already publicly confirmed his candidature as deputy leader, the others have yet to be confirmed. Belind Kellici and Ivi Kaso have also been discussed, but none of them has confirmed this publically,” – said journalist Ardit Hoxha.
The party’s leadership will convene once again this week to determine exactly what will be voted on by the National Council on Friday.
