Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha has previously called the ongoing electoral process for the new President of Albania a farse.
In a statement made today however, Berisha tried to dodge a question about whether or not he would vote his former minister of integration, Majlinda Bregu, as president.
“I’d much rather you asked me about the Democratic Party; don’t ask me about the farse that is the current presidential election. She is a respected figure of the Democratic Party, who is now engaged in diplomacy,” – said the former PM.
A few days ago, SP’s caucus leader Taulant Balla said during Euronews Albania’s ‘NOW’ with Erla Mehilli, that he felt bad that the opposition didn’t propose Majlinda Bregu for the new president.
