Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said on Saturday that she will first wait for the verdict of the Constitutional Court before appointing the new Prosecutor-General.
“We’re reviewing the additional material sent by the Prosecutorial Council as the previous file was incomplete. I would like to emphasize that we’ve received a lot of critiques detected by the monitoring organizations, including local and international NGOs”, Osmani said.
“We will notify citizens promptly when we reach a final decision”, she added.
Some two months ago, Blerim Isufaj was nominated by the Prosecutorial Council of Kosovo (KPK) as the new Prosecutor-General, but Osmani did not decree his candidacy.
One of the other candidates for the post, prosecutor Shqipdon Fazliu submitted a motion to the Constitutional Court to assess the constitutionality of the election procedure, in addition to requesting a temporary suspension for the appointment of Blerim Isufaj.
