Kovacevski: Invitation to Albin Kurti remains open

The Open Balkan meeting attended by five regional leaders commenced with a press conference in Ohrid, North Macedonia.

North Macedonia Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski opened the conference as the host of the event.

The Macedonian Prime Minister said one of the main objectives of the regional initiative is the accession of six Western Balkan countries to the European Union.

While listing some of the benefits, Kovacevski emphasized that the invitation to the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti, remains open.

The implementation of the agreements in line with the Open Balkan will bring among other things better wages, Kovacevski said.

In addition, he listed several agreements among the participating countries, including facilitations at the borders, mutual recognition of diplomas, a mutual labor market, promotion of tourism, and a joint cultural calendar.

“We’re here for an enlarged market, mobility, and developing businesses in the region. Improving the quality of the lives of our citizens. Businesses from our countries have agreed that the region needs the Open Balkan”, Kovacevski said.

“This summit takes us a step further on bringing our peoples closer”.

“We will sign new agreements, such as mutual recognition of diplomas. Also, we will promote to the Balkans as an attractive region”.

“Albanian seas, the mountains and the lakes of North Macedonia… We will create a joint calendar for cultural activities”, said the Macedonian premier.
