Renowned film director from Kosovo, Vjosa Berisha – who was being treated in England following her cancer diagnosis – has unfortunately passed away.
The news was announced by her husband Fatos Berisha, who wrote that Vjosa, who was receiving treatment at London’s University College Hospital, passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Vjosa Berisha was the founder of PriFilmFest festival, whose 14th edition is set to take place on July 26-30.
Berisha graduated with an MA in Arts in Media and Communication studies from the University of Westminster in London, UK. She also received a post-graduate diploma in Contemporary Diplomacy from the University of Malta.
Moreover, she has had an extensive experience in the film industry for over 20 years.
Since 2013, Vjosa Berisha has been a member of the European Film Academy.
