The new Ombudsperson will be elected before July 15.
20 contenders have completed the application form and submitted it to the Assembly.
But not all of them will make it to the final stage, being voted in Parliament.
All candidates will appear in front of the parliamentary committee on Laws, the body tasked to assess whether they fulfill legal criteria.
Those who pass will need the support of 28 parliamentarians in order to get nominated for the parliament voting.

The winner must then secure 84 votes in favor.
This means that consensus is needed between the ruling majority and the opposition.
Among the 20 candidates are notable jurists who have already made a name in the public realm.
