This year marked a rise in the number of asylum seekers in Kosovo.

There were precisely 324 foreign nationals who applied for asylum this year, the majority of whom were from Morocco, Syria and Afghanistan.

Most of these foreign migrants try to cross the border to Kosovo illegally.

The center for asylum seekers in Magure, Lipjan offers all the services necessary for these migrants but they only look at Kosovo as a transit point to other countries in the west.

Hundreds of people are offered shelter in this center each year which also includes services like health checks, food, personal hygiene, clothing as well as courses like learning Albanian and basic computer skills.

There’s a maximum capacity of 100 people in this center but during the past couple of days a maximum of 30 migrants have been staying here.
