European Council’s president, Charles Michel, has congratulated Bajram Begaj on taking office as the President of Albania.
Through a post on his social media account, Michel stated that through the opening of negotiations, EU-Albania relations have entered a new stage.
In addition, the EC president highlighted that he looks forward to building a common future between the EU and Albania.
This Sunday, at 18:00, a ceremony will take place in Parliament during which Bajram Begaj will be sworn in as the country’s new president.
After, a ceremony will be organized at the Presidential Building.
Begaj was elected president in April after a parliamentary vote attended by 83 MPs.
