Electoral expert Gerta Meta stated that the electoral and territorial reforms in our country have been taken hostage by politics.
“Politics in Albania has taken very important hostages, especially the two major reforms, the electoral and territorial reforms, which are two reforms that must work simultaneously to serve the main goal of having free and fair elections. “- she said in an interview for Euronews Albania.
Meta also emphasized that the fact that a political party has disagreements within itself in the way of its structuring and organization, should not affect the electoral reform.
The Electoral Reform Commission postponed the deadline of its activities until March 10, 2023.
The decision was reported today during the Commission’s Meeting, almost 3 months after it was approved by Parliament, but work remained at a standstill and only one meeting took place during the summer season.
