‘Iran will bear responsibility’, the US reacts to the cyber-attack on Albania

The White House has reacted through an official communication after Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that the Islamic Republic of Iran was behind the cyber-attack on Albanian government institutions on July 15.

In their statement, it is said that the United States condemns the cyber-attack and that Iran will bear the responsibility for this incident, which they describe as ‘unprecedented’.

Among other things, the notice stated that the US will take further actions to hold Iran accountable for its actions which threatened the security of Albania – a country that is a direct ally of the United States.

This Wednesday, Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that Iran was behind the July 15 cyber-attack.

In a speech published on social media, Rama emphasized that Albania will cut diplomatic ties with this country.

As a result, Rama also requested that the diplomatic staff of the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran leave Albania within the next 24 hours.
