Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the renowned company SHELL is doing all the tests related to a large amount of gas and oil discovered in Shpirag.

During his speech at a meeting with the business chambers, Rama said that if it is possible to commercialize the discovered oil, which he claims is of very high quality, Albania will turn into an important economic power in the region.

“It’s of the highest quality in the world, super light. The problem lies with its commercialism because it is too deep. SHELL is testing whether there is enough volume to justify the investment. We’re talking about income that changes the economic power of Albania. But this is a beautiful dream at the moment because we cannot say for sure if we can commercialize Albanian oil or not”, said Rama.
