In 2021, the Counter-Terrorism Unit in Kosovo declassified a document that revealed a plan to assassinate Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

The document was published by hackers who have been cyberattacking digital and government systems in Kosovo for several days now and it’s believed to have been obtained from the email of the General Director of the State Police in 2021, Gledis Nano.

The person who is suspected of carrying out Kurti’s assassination is Prek Kodra, who, according to data in the report, was said to have had extensive training in the use of snipers.

Also, it is suspected that he was involved in several murders in Kosovo and Montenegro.

The Anti-Terrorism Unit in Kosovo has received information about the assassination of Ismet Haxha, former member of the Kosovo Intelligence Service and Xhavit Haliti, member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo and former MP.

The first target was Ismet Haxha. The second was Xhavit Haliti, who would be killed a month after Haxha to make it seem like an act of revenge. Then, Prime Minister Albin Kurti would have also been killed according to these plans.

The murders would have been carried out with the aim of destabilizing Kosovo.
