Foreigners invested over €80 million euros in the constructiosector n in Albania in the second quarter of the year.
Data from the Bank of Albania show that real estate is the main activity that has attracted direct foreign investment, followed by the mineral extraction sector with around €61 million euros.
Total direct foreign investment in the second quarter was €337 million euros or 43 percent more than the same period last year. The figure is increasing by 13.5 percent even compared to the first quarter of the year.
Italians were the main investors with €45 million euros, followed by the Dutch with €38 million and Germans with €26 million euros.
Foreign investments last year exceeded €1 billion euros, while from data so far from this year, the figure may go up to €1.2 billion euros.
