The vice-president of the Democratic Party, Oerd Bylykbashi, submitted the draft law on lustration to the Albanian Parliament.

In a statement to the press, Bylykbashi emphasized that this draft bill was submitted in order that the high functionaries who violated the right of Albanians during communism can no longer serve in public functions.

“I submitted the draft law for the lustration of all the officials who, with the criminal platform of the communist party, built a regime that assaulted and massacred Albanians. This is the third time that the Democratic Party has introduced such a law.

We file it with the aim that in the institutions, the high functionaries of the labor party, and the collaborators of the state security who have carried out activities violating the rights of Albanian citizens, can no longer serve in public functions. It is a law that is based on the previous experience of the 2018 law” – he said.
