The upcoming local elections and the vote of immigrants were the focus of the meeting that the general secretary of the Socialist Party Damian Gjiknuri held with the structures of the SP in Thessaloniki.

Gjiknuri asked immigrants to be aware of the weight of their vote, asking them to organize themselves to express their will in the local elections of 2023.

“It is a necessary meeting granted, somewhat late, but the political activity in these years faded due to the pandemic. SP fought hard to make it easier for you to vote, so that you don’t take the bus to vote, but vote from here where you are. This will make you an important factor in these elections. You will determine the fate of the elections”, said Gjknuri

Also present was the organizational secretary of SP, Blendi Klosi, who spoke about the Socialist Party’s efforts to enable immigrants to vote.

“The vote of immigrants in Greece has always been strong. From the polls we find a massive vote, but our relationship cannot be only on the day of voting. With the change in the law that was made with the full willingness of the SP, immigrants can now vote from wherever they live”, said Klosi.

Gjiknuri and Klosi asked the structures in Thessaloniki for more organization for the local elections of 2023, stressing that their vote is decisive for many municipalities.
