The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, said in a press conference that he is open to cooperating with the entire opposition for the local elections.

“The Freedom Party, as you know, is open to cooperating with any real opposition factor, primarily with the DP in the interest of establishing democracy in the country as soon as possible.

Secondly, the Freedom Party has been and is ready to cooperate and coordinate the opposition action as a national interest and not a party interest. This does not exist as a philosophy of the Freedom Party. FP has a direct confrontation with Edi Rama and the mafia regime and wants to join forces in the most open way with all other forces that are in true opposition to Edi Rama”, said Meta.

Meta also underlined that it is necessary for the entire opposition to come up with a candidate.

“As for the candidates, it is important to have only one in each municipality. In other conditions, there could be 2-3 or 4. In this regard, we have made it clear that we will not set conditions for any type of municipality. If there will be a candidate from FP who thinks they have support in a certain municipality, it is an issue that we will discuss so that this candidate can be tested”, he said.
